Consortium Shires

The Shire of Marion Glen is proud to belong to the Consortium of the Southern Marches, an unofficial alliance of shires in southern Georgia.

The Consortium shires work together to support one another's events, simply by attending or by helping out where we can. We will also help each other with fighter practices and demos. This allows each shire to do a little more than it might otherwise, lending skills where they are needed and giving larger scope for people's talents.

We are also pleased to offer our Crown a unified force in defense of our beloved Kingdom of Meridies in time of war. Sharing fighter practices allows us to fight as a much stronger force than separate shires might. We like to think we defend southeastern Meridies against incursions by our Trimarian and Atlantian neighbors.

As part of our fighting preparation, we challenge each other annually, vying for "The Chalice", the symbolic heart of the bond between the shires. This chalice, while beautiful and inspiring to our fighters, is also known for its propensity to not be where one would expect it to be...an additional inspiration to our populace. We also hone our fighting prowess in battle with the dread Barony of the South Downs, which annually seeks to test our mettle in the Castle Wars. But however these small skirmishes resolve, our forces always unite and provide a strength to be reckoned with when Meridies call upon us.
